RENDKíVÜLI ETHNO-JAZZ KONCERT

2009. október 16-án pénteken 21 órától Sepsiszentgyörgyön a Park Hotel bárjában rendkívüli ethno-jazzkoncert volt, melynek keretében fellépett a bolgár és román zenészekből álló ETHNO JAZZTET:

Ventzislav Blagoev - trombita,
Valeri Dimchev
- tambura,
Pedro Negrescu - nagybőgő,
Ivan Tsankov - ütőhangszerek.

Ventzislav Blagoev was born in 1967 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
At the age of 9 he began playing the trumpet and at 10 started his studies with Prof. Petar Karparov. He served his time as a soldier in the Folk Orchestra of the Labour Corps. From 1987 to 1992 he studied at the Music Academy Sofia.
He became between 1993 and 1994 a student at the Jazz Department at Bruckner Konservatorium-Linz, Austria.
From 1991 till 1996 he was soloist in the Bulgarian Army Symphony Orchestra, becoming the leader of "Phantasialand Dixie Band" Cologne, Germany in 1997-2000.
He has performed with jazz, folk and symphony orchestras in Austria, Germany, France, Greece, Italy,
Belgium and Romania.
VALERI DIMCHEVwas born 1963 in the city of Blagoevgrad (South West Bulgaria).

Valeri Dimchev studies tamboura in:
Folk Music school in Shiroka luka (1977-1982)
AMTII Music Academy in Plovdiv (1984-1988)
During his studying in Plovdiv Valeri Dimchev works with Radio Plovdiv, where he records number of his compositions.

Valeri Dimchev also works as a composer, arranger, musician cooperating with famous artists from Bulgaria and other countries.

Here are some of the prizes Valeri's won:
2006 Macedoniafolk - 1st prize for arrangement of "Mari mome"
1999 Festival of the Macedonian song - the award of the audience for a composed song "Father & Son"
1995 Pirinfolk - 2 nd prize for arrangement
1995 - Golden antena for the soundtrack of the TV film “Haramijska zalba”
1994 Nomination for the best European Jazz group – Carlovy vari, Czechoslovakia with “Valeri Dimchev quartet”

Pedro Negrescu s-a născut pe data de 25 aprilie 1969 la Tecuci.

A studiat violoncelul ca instrument principal, la Liceul de Artă „George Enescu” din Bucureşti, şi alte instrumente precum trompeta, cornul şi pianul. Contrabasul şi chitara bas şi le-a însuşit ca autodidact. A absolvit clasa Regie de Operă a Universităţii de Muzică din Bucureşti (1995). A participat la festivaluri internaţionale de jazz din România, Polonia (1994), Grecia (1995), Bulgaria (1993, 1996) şi Germania (2000). Finalist al concursului de jazz de la Getxo (Spania, 1998), cu propriul său grup Soft Triangle; membru al orchestrei big-band internaţionala Swinging Europe - European Jazz Youth Orchestra, bursier la Bad Goisern în Austria unde i-a cunoscut pe contrabasistul Larry Grenadier, pe bateristul Billy Hard şi pe saxofonistul Rick Margitza.

A cântat alături de Rick Condit, Armen Donelian, Harry Sokal, Elly Wright, dar şi împreună cu renumiţi cântăreţi români de jazz precum Garbis Dedeian, Mircea Tiberian, Johnny Răducanu, Dan Ionescu, Nicolae Simion, Anca Parghel, Ion Baciu Jr., Marius Popp sau Dan Stefanică.

Discografia sa cuprinde nume cunoscute precum Jazz Behind the Carpathians: Johnny Răducanu meets Theodora Enache (1999), Green Records, România sau Rădăcini (2002), Mediaround, SUA.
